Escape With Me…

Annamarie is a fine artist and scenic artist born, raised, and currently residing in Queens New York. She has an Associates of Science (AS) in Fine and Performing Arts from Queensborough Community College and a Bachelors of Fine Arts (BFA) in Scenic Design from SUNY Purchase. She has been working as a Scenic Artist; painting sets for theater, events, fashion shows, television and movies since 2013; and is a member of IATSE Local 829.
As a socially anxious person in a big city, Annamarie found comfort in art. She creates whimsical realities to escape to. She loves animals and plants and replicates the beauty that she sees in these subjects and everyday life, with a twist. She would like to welcome everyone to her reality. Annamarie makes art to show the beauty in the mundane reality. A place you can go to when you take the time to admire the everyday beauty of nature and the world.

Natalia Vedalia is a middle school student and budding entomologist. Follow her on an epic exploration across New York City where she discovers arthropods of all kinds! Learn about identification, classification, and adaptations, then, follow in Natalia’s footsteps by engaging in your own neighborhood safari!
In under 50 pages filled with fun, rhyming stanzas, this book takes children through the seven days of the week where Natalia explores local insects, arachnids, and myriopods from New York State. As we read and observe the artwork throughout the story, we are introduced to accurate anatomy and physiology of various local organisms while underscoring new scientific vocabulary. This book will serve as a supplement to science curricula taught throughout grades 4-8.
